Video Digitization Assistant – Berkeley, CA

Where: Main Campus-UC Berkeley – Berkeley, CA

What: This position performs basic video digitization duties at the Media Resources Center (MRC), including extracting videos and encoding files according to defined specifications, as well as performing quality control, file transfer and basic metadata entry. The quality control process for video files involves viewing short portions every 5 minutes from the beginning to the end of each film processed. This practice is necessary to ensure reliable quality for users of MRC.

Required Skills of Note: Experience with library circulation systems and online catalogs, including bibliographic checking, metadata entry, item record creation and editing, and collection maintenance.Experience using common software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and email such as Gmail or bCal (or other email applications).
