Middle East Monograph Receiving & Copy Cataloguing Specialist – Stanford, CA

Where: Stanford University – Stanford, CA

What: The Middle East Receiving and Copy Cataloging Specialist reports to the Monograph Receiving Operations Manager and is responsible for timely receiving and processing of materials in different formats acquired on approval, via firm and standing orders, and as gifts in Arabic, Turkish and other Middle Eastern languages for all SUL locations. The incumbent searches and loads records into local system or creates brief records in MARC format. In addition, the Specialist performs copy cataloging and may assists in ordering materials in subject and/or language-specific collection areas using external service providers, including foreign and domestic vendors, publishers, and content providers.

Required Skills of Note: Two-year college degree plus one or more years of experience in an academic library, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience / Proficiency in Arabic and working knowledge of Turkish
