What: Under the supervision of the Curator, the Assistant Museum Scientist (Curatorial Assistant) is one of the staff members of The Magnes responsible for the day-to-day operational duties associated with a research collection repository. Duties include routine accessioning, identification, classification, and cataloging of books, manuscripts, artifacts, and other media in the collection for research, publication and exhibition purposes

Required Skills of Note: Training in museum curation (eg museum artifact and manuscript preparation and curatorial techniques; cataloging of collection materials using existing standards and protocols). Familiarity with Hebrew and one or more of the other languages included in the collection. Familiarity with Jewish historical and cultural studies. Competent computer skills including use of word-processing and spreadsheet programs, databases, digitization platforms, and social media.
