Where: Sonoma State University – Rohnert Park, CA
What: Reporting to and under the general supervision of the Director of Library Technology, with additional direction from the Technical Services Librarian, the Acquisitions Specialist shares responsibility for the acquisition of materials in physical and electronic formats for the University Library. Acquisitions responsibilities include researching order requests, building orders at vendor sites and in the integrated library system (ILS), copy cataloging, monitoring order fulfillment and vendor performance, ensuring that electronic resources are activated, and communicating with vendors as needed to resolve issues. The incumbent also provides general departmental support as part of the Technical Services team, responsibilities which include, but are not limited to, catalog maintenance, withdrawals, material transfers and other technical services work as assigned.
